The Importance of a Good Cleanser

Why Cleansing Is Important

The first, and debatably most important, step of an effective skin care routine is using a face wash to cleanse your face. Regular cleansing is crucial to the health and appearance of your skin, maintenance of proper hydration and moisture levels, and the clearing of any pore blockage.

Cleansing also helps maintain healthy pH levels which in turn enables healthy water and skin care product retention. Because using an effective face wash removes excess dirt build up, oil, and other unwanted debris, this step prepares the face for targeted skin care products applied afterwards.

What Happens If You Don't Wash Your Face

Without washing, skin would look and feel dry, rough, aged, and dirty. Skipping the cleansing step will cause a buildup of the dirt and grime our faces accumulate within a day, making it difficult for other skin care products to penetrate the skin effectively and correctly. Additionally, pores would become completely clogged, resulting in acne and other serious skin care concerns such as dryness, redness, inflammation, and irritation.

How To Choose The Right Cleanser

There is a cleanser for every skin type, and it is essential to pick one that will work with the oil and water levels that are unique to your face. Natural cleansers are recommended for those with allergies and sensitive skin because they do not contain synthetic ingredients. Also, pure and natural face washes are ideal for sensitive skin because they generally do not contain irritating additives and are fragrance, paraben, and alcohol free. Cleansers labeled “gentle” usually work best for those with sensitive skin – but are a safe cleanser option for all skin types.

If your skin is easily irritated and dry, then the it is essential to search for hydrating cleansers that will hydrate, moisturize, and soften your skin all while cleansing it.  Natural and organic cleansers are good at eliminating dirt without over drying and irritating skin. Cleansers that target hydration are vital in improving the moisture retention of your skin. The less water your skin can hold, the more apparent become the signs of aging such as deep wrinkles, fine lines, cracked skin. The right cleanser will help replenish lost moisture to your skin, and will lock hydrating in the skin’s deep layers. Incorporating the correct cleanser into your skin care routine is the first step to advanced anti-aging skincare.

Generally, a good cleanser will also remove makeup, but if your makeup is waterproof, then mixing makeup remover inside your cleanser will usually do the trick! If you are looking for an all-natural solution to help you cleanse and remove makeup, mixing rose water in your cleanser will do the trick and will not irritate your skin.

How Milk Benefits The Skin

Many of us have grown up hearing that drinking milk helps build strong, healthy bones, but how many of us were aware that milk can also give us beautiful, healthy skin? Lactic Acid – found in milk – is a gentle yet powerful skincare ingredient that works to purify, moisturize, and exfoliate the skin.

Cleansers that contain lactic acid have numerous benefits for skin. Lactic acid will heal dry and cracked skin, help hydrate and moisturize, diminish pigmentation, unclog pores to help heal acne, and soothe irritations and sunburns. Milk can also act as a toner for all skin types including sensitive, oily, dry, and combination.

In addition to cleansers and toners, milk can be used as a capable moisturizer, and an ingredient to increase the overall radiance and glow of skin.
